elearningWatch March 2012

G’day
beware the tides of fiscal march (apologies to the Bard), or in real terms watch out for the bean counters annual exercising of that wonderful euphemism for institutional mismanagement called ‘restructuring’. Not sure if it reached epidemic proportions on the other side of the globe, but it certainly is rampant over here. Several of my colleagues with infinite wisdom and years of experience have succumbed to its machinations. Another is under a gathering
cloud (not the i sort) I might sound cynical but I could hardly wax poetic about the shortsighted administrators who fail to value the people that make a real difference to student learning, for the sake of ‘saving money’, they think. End of tirade.
This month the posting contains the usual mix of goodies. It includes developing online materials, history resources, study guides and strategies, technical standards for VET, moodle 2guide,Web to mobile, training and assessment guides, online facilitation,Horizon videos, conferences and NZ happenings plus the odd one out
